Hi All,

Offline backup failed with below erors

BR0278E Command output of 'copy C:\ORACLE\AHI\SAPDATA1\UNDO_1\UNDO.DATA1 E:\IDS_Backup\beawljyl\UNDO.DATA1':

The parameter is incorrect.

0 file(s) copied.

BR0280I BRBACKUP time stamp: 2009-06-25 15.40.45

BR0279E Return code from 'copy C:\ORACLE\AHI\SAPDATA1\UNDO_1\UNDO.DATA1 E:\IDS_Backup\beawljyl\UNDO.DATA1': 1

BR0222E Copying C:\ORACLE\AHI\SAPDATA1\UNDO_1\UNDO.DATA1 to/from E:\IDS_Backup\beawljyl\UNDO.DATA1 failed due to previous errors

Note : - I have changed following parameter in initSID.sap

1) backup-dev_type =tape to backup-dev_type =disk

2)backup_root_dir=c:/oracle/SID/sapbackup to E:\IDS_backup

Kindly suggest me to resolve the issue.

OS -- windows Database -- oracle 10g

Hi Mohsin

Can you please check "backup-dev_type =disk" should be "backup_dev_type =disk"

[ check the underscore properly, you might have mistyped there]

Please also set stage_root_dir as your backup_root_directory.

This should help. Otherwise just go by Brtools option menu and change from there.

Please let me know the result.

stage_root_dir =oracle/<>/sapbackup

shall i change as E:/IDS_backup???

If stage_root_direc is not set it will take the value of backup_root_directory. If set to some other value make it same as backup_root_directory.

Anindya is correct. Change it to stage_root_dir = E:/IDS_backup.

Hi,

The parameter is incorrect.

set backup_dev_type = disk

Database backups to disk.The directory that should be used for the backups is defined in parameter backup_root_dir

Hello Sushil,

Already i have set backup_dev_type = disk

backup_root_dir =E:\IDS_backup

I am trying to take backup in external HDD (E drive)
