If you're doing a refresh via system copy / db copy then the patch level is irrelevant, but when doing a remote client copy export/import you patches should be the same otherwise you'll find inconsistencies.

If the patch levels are different, and QAS is higher than PRD then after the refresh install the patches. But if its vice versa then its not possble since you cannot go back to lower patch level.

please use the below link for the documentation:

Hi,

Can you please let me know that who is at higher level PRD od QAS.

If PRD then no harm you shall have Quality at same level after the Refresh.

If QAS then the higher patch level will be lost after Refresh.

Please check that you OS should be at the same patch level fo both System.

You should follow the system copy Guide for the System refresh.

Hi,

In QAS some patchs are high like basis and abap and where as in PRD some patchs are low like basis and abap.

and also my DEV server data from sr2 data. There is some conflict in DEV and PRD. In dev some pi_basis_2005 and prd pi_basis_2006.

Hi ,

See if you dont need the quality System you can go with the System Refresh.

When you refesh you Quality System from Production you will ahve you Quality System Same as production and all the patch level will be as in Production.

The target system will have the patch level as then source system.

Hi,

I think Client copy will not go succesfully as you are at different Patch level.

Thanks

Yes,

go with Client export/import. It will be successful.

Rishi,

Patches will not effect the client copy. Thumb rule is both system should of the same release....

Pavan ,

when you are performing the client copy you are coping the tables and indexes.

if your system have different patch level i way cause inconsistancy while client copy.

Please check this forun to clear the situation
