Hi All,

I changed Displaying attr as navigational attr in Info Object maintainance and in datatarget maintainance.

But In Query Designing i am trying to create a variable on navigational attr, It's still not possible.

How can i do that?

Thanks in Advance.

Chandu.

Hi Chandu,

Just check these sequence:

1. Was the navigational attr turned-on in the Info-object.

2. Was the navigational attr checkbox checked in the cube. If so, was the cube activated. Saving is not enough.

3. Now in the query designer for "that cube" you would find the info-object as "Base Info-object_Your Nav attr".

4. Right click on that and create variable.

Bye

Dinesh

hi Chandu,

i suppose u hav not chaecked the I/O button present in the "Edit Infocube" page. I mean u go to Infocube > (rightclick)click Change, where u see Navigational Attributes, clicking that u will see all nav attributes present, check them, save and activate. hope that helps

Hi Chandu,

You can always create a variable on the navigation attribute by right click on the characterstic value variables below the navigation attribute in the query.

I think you are doing a right click on navigational attribute and not on the characterstic value variables.

After making the changes in the InfoObject and the data target (to makr this attr as navigational), did you log out and log back into Bex? You need to do that before you can see this Nav attr in the query designer.

Hope this helps...

So did you log in and try again? Now can you see the nav attr and create the variable?

Meaning that you cannot see the Nav Attr?

Or meaning that you cannot create the variable?

Can you check in the InfoProvider on which this query is based to see that the check mark is there for this nav attr, and that the InfoProvider is active...

If all this seems to be in order, it seems that this is an auth issue. Check in RSD1 to see if the InfoObject that you marked as the navi attr, is marked as Relevant for Auth (Bex Tab in RSD1).

Hope this helps ...

Hi,

I checked in RSD1, it's marked as Authorizationrelevant.

Thanks.

So it means that you do not have the role to access this. Once you are granted the roles, you will be able to see this nav attr in the query designer.

Hope this helps...

So what does the technical name say then? Are you looking at a Display Attr??

Hi Chandu

The techinical name should be like this

Infoobject name: zcrmprdl1

Attribute(Infoobject): zcrmkpyr

then navigational attribute technical name will be zcrmprdl1_zcrmkpyr

Cheers

Hi Chandu

First turn on the technical names to be sure of the InfoObject you are trying to create a variable for. The technical name of the navi attr will be something like InfoObject__Nav Attr.

Right click this (in the left hand side) and choose New Variable. If you cannot see this option, then open the + sign next to this object, right click on Char Value Variables and choose New Variable.

Hope this helps...
