Hi All,

I 'm facing following decision making issues regarding consumption point at SAP side.Could anyone clarifies according best practice of XI.

1) File-to-File vs File-to_idoc( when messages coming from Legacy system.

Any other best method if we can't find a right Idoc..

2) Idoc-to-File vs File-to_file( when SAP sending information to legacy system)

Any other best method if we can't find a right Idoc..?

Shall we download relevent information into file and send to legacy ..? in this case XI will act just like an FTP copy paste..

In XI point of you what we can suggest.

Regards,

venu.

You can use either an Idoc or an RFC depending upon your requirements. But there are some advantages over each other. So you go through the below url and find out which will suit to your requirement:

Hi,

If at one end is XI then it is always better you go for Idoc communication as it is easy to monitor. The other options are proxy communication or RFC.
