Hi,
This will pop up when your VM(s) are stored on an external drive that loses it's access permissions.
The files become read only and therein lies the problem.
Solution:
Use OS X's 'Disk Utility'
Select the drive or partition that has your VM(s)
Close all programs that may be using, or might need to use that drive
'Verify Disk'
This will Un-mount and Re-mount your drive / partition, effectively resetting the permissions.
The drive and partition(s) must not be busy
Thanks,
Sridhar

HI,
now when i select my external HD to do configuration i have this pop up : Add this older version of virtual disk in this virtual machine?
The chosen virtual disk was created by an older version of VMware product. Workstation 6.x will be able to use this virtual disk without converting the disk version.
My laptop use vista but my external have window 2003 Entrprise Edition with ECC 6.
please give my step to solve this problem.
thank.
