Is BI client a new concept in SM7.0? Because I did not hear this before.
If it's a new add-on, how to create it in SM7.0?
Thanks!
Christy,
search for the IMG activity SOLMAN_BI_CLIENT_INF in SPRO
BI reporting is relevant for the following functions in the Solution Manager:
IT Performance/KPI Reporting
BI-based EWA Reporting
BI-based BPM Reporting
BI-based Test Management Reporting
Root Cause Analysis
You can use the BI (which is part of Netweaver and SolMan is based on Netweave so this is why it is "included" in your SolMan 7.0) inside your Solman or you can use your external BI. Please note that for SMD you need to have the local BI activated.

Can we have the local BI run on a different client as the production Solution Manager client?
For example XXXCLNT001 (Solution Manager)
XXXCLNT400 (BI)
Would anything special have to be done to configure that?
Problem is, our initial installer activated the content on 400 and did not tell us. We went ahead and used 001 as SolMan and now everything is built up so much we are limited in what we can (want to) change.
