how to copy Data type

Former Member

I have to create a duplicate SAP delivered DT as it is with the same name in a different NS.

It has huge list of fields and I cannot create them manually. Same time I cannot use the standard one as the standard data is already is in use with other interface.. my data type enhancemets on this will disturb the existing.

I have to create it under the same SWCV and under a different NS.

I couldnt do a copy object or import , export XSD .

So I have this question..

Like Copy object for normal DT, can we do it for standard DT?

I can code for proxy again and I can manage on ABAP.

THanks,

Venkat.

Venkat,

Right click on the datatype and give the name and select With All Dependent Objects option. With this option it will copy all the other sub datatypes which are in the main data type.

Satish,

I already tried that . SAP says

Basis objects must not be created in the namespace of an underlying software component version

Venkat,

Are you copying into Basis Software component itself or into a different SWC?
