As Jitesh said, deploy the 3 SDA files using SDM / JSPM / SDM Command Propmpt.

Assuming you already have a Admin uSer set up in MDM server or your own ID having MDM permissions.

Make sure the SDA files are from the same MDM installation package which is used to install MDM server and its components.

- Restart the server

- Login to Portal. Check Content Admin > Portal Content > Content Provided by SAP > Specialist > .... you should have packages for MDM in this folder.

- Create a system for MDM system in System Administration.

- Create an Alias - If you want to use standard content, you will have to create the ALIAS with the specific names mentioned in the standard iview properties. You can also get the standard alias name from the install guides. Otherwise any alias name is ok.

- Do the user mapping for the created system.

- Come back to system administration and test the system.

in MDM 71 you may have trusted connection setup, use the appropriate guides(MDM Console/Security Guide), linked mention below to know how to setup trusted connection b/w portal and MDM71.( option not available in MDM5.5).

Now your system is setup and is ready to use.

Exceptions you might face:

System Test will fail even when you did everything right.

Possible Cause1 and Solution: MDM User ID is case sensitive, Check the User Id and do the user mapping properly making sure both places have same cases.

Possible Cause2 and Solution: The userId may need permission on the system. Go to SystemAdmin > Permission > Assign the user Read/write permission on the system. i advice to give this permission ot a role and assign the user to that role.

There are certain more exceptions, you can hit back at us to find out more:-)

Good Luck and Happy hunting with MDM.

Chose the MDM version you want to work on, 7.1 / 5.5 and Get all the guides. Just for Portal, use Portal Content Development and Portal Business Package guides.

Hi Vickey,

Check the below steps:

1. Download the entire installable from the market place and make sure that you use the portal content from the same installables else you may not able to integrate because of version mismatch

2. Get the three SCA files from the installables

a> MDMJAVAAPI<ver>.sca {available in Java API folder}

b> BPMDMAPPL<ver>.sca {available in Portal Content folder}

c> BPMDMTECH<ver>.sca {available in Portal Content folder}

3. Open the SDM i.e. Software Deployment Manager from the path <installation drive}\usr\sap\<SAPID>\JC00\SDM\program\RemoteGui.bat and select the Deployment option. You can deploy all the three files in one go.

4. Once done with successful deployment, restart the portal server.

5. Login into the portal and check whether MDM System is available in the System templates. Also check whether MDM iViews are available to integrate.

6. For integration, create MDM system, perform user mapping, check system connection, create the necessary iViews.
