When the labor cost of timesheet go to the Actual Cost Line Items report ?

Hi ,

when the user book the time in timesheet on Network / Activity, when this record reflect the actual cost of project ?

After Timesheet Approve via CATS_APPR_LITE

Or after Confirmation

Or after transfer via CATA

Who can tell me the relationship among these three steps ?

Hi,

The flow is like this ( if u r using timesheets for confirmation):

CAT2 : Timesheet: Enter Times : User enters the time.

CATS_APPR_LITE : Approval of timesheet

CAT5 : Transfer to Projects.

This will post cost to Projects.

Another way of getting the Actual cost is Confirmation using CN25 or CN29.

Is that means the confirmation is not mandtory step here ? Why we need do the confirmation ?

Hi Shudin,

Without doing the any approval of time sheet (CATS_APPR_LITE), think which data can be transfer to projects and how actual cost can be appeared against the activity (CJI3)??

Confirmation of activity is mandatory step here, without that the actual will not post to the project.

As I said earlier , these are two different methods to do the confirmation.

1.0 Confirmation via Time Sheets (CATS): Use CAT2 , CAT5

2.0 Confirmation Directly in the Project System :Use CJ20N , CN25

So can I say :

Step 1: CAT2 -- Book time by user

Step 2: CATA_APPR_Lite -- Approve by manager of user

Step 3: CN25 -- Confirmation by who?

Step 4: CAT5 -- Timesheet transfer to Project.

Then after these 4 steps, the labor cost of timesheet go to the CJI3 report ( Actual cost line items report ) ?

If you are using timesheets for Confirmation , then you do not have to do confirmation thru CN25.

When u r using CATS u dont have to do CN25...CAT5 will confirm the activity...but when u r not using CATS...in that case u will have to manually confirm the activity by CN25.

Hi

Confrimation done by project people, it may be a person responsible for the project. It will vary based on the client requirement.

Always doing manual confirmation using CN25 is good practice.
