I am configuring SMD on Solution Manger SP16. When I run the Diagnostics Setup for Managed system I get an message that "No Diagnostics solution could be retrieved from Solution Manager. Please check SMSY contents".

My Solution is created and I have added systems in that.

The agent connectvity and agent is running fine.

Please help me to proceed further on this.

Thanks

Did you install the diagnostics instance?

Easy to check on windows, in the MMC an additional installation should be visable, usually named SMD or DAA, on unix/linux just check /usr/sap and see if the SMD or DAA folder exists.

Hi

Thanks for your reply..

Diagnostics instance ?? I didnt get that.

I could see SMD available in /usr/sap but this SMD is not the one which I am looking..as this SMD folder is created long back.

Please advise.

The instance might have been delivered with the initial install.

Can you tell me what directories are in the SMD folder?

click my name

however, the content is correct.

For an SMD instance that is.

Can you check /usr/sap/SMD/J98/work/available.log?

To check if your instance is running

I dont find available.log there. I think this SMD folder is not the one which was created when i setup diagnostics.. as it was already present before..

Thanks

The fact that is has those 3 folders does indicate it is a diagnostic instance.....

Is there any other content in the work directory?

You could however choose to download a new diagnostic instance (sapinst).

When you start the sapinst, try to de-install the previous diagnostic instance first.

Then re-install.
