Hi All,
What is Sap's recommended strategy for upgrading the kernels? Does Sap recommend the customers to be in the latest kernel always or do we have to do the upgrade only on a need basis?
It will be really helpful, if someone can point me to any links that discuss the upgradation process and the steps to be follwed to revert back, in case of any issues.
Thanks in advance!
Hi,
You should keep your system on the latest kernel patch. This is what is also recommended.
Now before upgrading your kernel, you should always take the backup of your kernel Directory.
If your system does not come up with new kernel, you can replace your old kernel.
Now SAP kernel upgrade process depends upron your OS, So mention your OS here and we will let you know the process for upgrading the kernel.
With Regards,
Saurabh
