Archiving the ODS Data

BW Experts,

Say I am Loading 3 years of data in to the ODS. once I finish the First year load, Can I archive the first 6 months of the data and then just retain the last six months? And As I move on with the second and third year, I would like to do the same, i.e keep archiving data 6 months before. If yes, does any one have a document on how to do it?

Yes it is possible but not advisable this process. In general atleast minimum we should keep 3 years of Data in BW. For example if you have Data in BW from year 2000 to 2005. Archive Data till 2002 and keep rest of the Data in BW. When you move to 2006 archive 2003 data also.
