Hi

I would like to create different portal desktops for different user groups. I would ideally want different branding images for these different groups.

Could any of you please let me know in detail, how to go about this.

Thanks,

LM

Hi,

To create different portal desktops to different user groups, create different themes and create desktops based on the themes. Then assign these desktops to the user groups.

Thanks,

Madhuri

Hi

In your portal, goto System Administration => Portal Display => Desktops & Display Rules.

Browse throgh the following path in the PCD structure.

Portal COntent => Portal Administrators => Super Administrators.

Inside that folder, you can find Master Rule Collection.

Open that file and there you can write new portal display rules as follows.

If User=XXXX

THEN Portal Desktop=YYYYY

Hope this helps.

Hi

It goes like this.

1) Create a New Desktop from Sys Administration> Portal Display > Desktops & Display rules.

2) Create a copy of the default Framework page from PCD > Portal Users > Standard Users.

3) Attach this Framework page and set of themes to the Desktop.

4) Now create a Rule Collection from Sys Administration> Portal Display > Desktops & Display rules. Add the new Desktop to the Expression for all users.

5) Goto Portal Administrator > Super Administrator> main_rules. Donot delete it. Just add an IF Expression. Make sure the IF expression is as follows..

IF USer = <New User>

Then Rule Collection = <New Rule Collection>

Hope this work.

Rewrd points if useful

Hi LM,

Yes, create different desktops for each group.

You might want to see this documentation, Configuring Customized Portal Desktops for Tenants at http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw2004s/helpdata/en/4a/186b3f4d3e448bb98bb8d4b0b7f354/frameset.htm, which describes how to set up different desktops for different tenants (which, in the end, are more less groups).

This documentation gives more of workflow for your scenario. In this documentation are links to the standard documentation, such as for creating rules, creating desktops, setting the branding image, and so forth.

Hope it helps.

Daniel
