Common distribution channel for Customer master only

Dear Experts,

We have a requirement to use common distribution channel for customer master data. I know that there is config for this, but that will make dist channel common for customer master as well as material master. We still want to keep material master maintenance in individual dist channels.

I wanted to check with you, if you came across this type of requirement and how your resolved it.

Defiantly you can maintain indusial dist channels but also extend dist channels in that common dist

Once you activate common distribution channel, SAP will not use the master data from individual dist channels. It will only look up in the common distribution channel.
