Top Down & Bottom up Budgeting

Hi

How to manage the top down and bottom up budgeting in BCS. As budget distribution & Roll up functionalities are not available.

Top down u2013 Assigning budget superior Fund center & commitment item and distributing it to subordinate Fund center & commitment items

Bottom up - The budget values are entered for subordinate Fund centers & Commitment Items, which are then totaled up and displayed in the R/3 system at each higher level

Do we have these functionalities still in BCS?

Purnima

Hello,

In BCS:

Budget distribution and the assignment of posting addresses, budget addresses and availability control objects in BCS depend on the master data hierarchy, which you can define as you wish by using derivation strategies defined in Customizing.

Please have a look at the online help:

See:

'Budget Control System (BCS)'

And

'Master Data ->Use of Account Assignment Elements -> Budget Control System (BCS)->Budget Structure'

Then you can implement a master data hierarchy by using derivation strategies.

Hope this will help you

Kind regards

Mar

Hi,

In BCS it's working somewhat differently. You do not have anymore top-down distribution budgetary documents. Instead, you post your budget directly to the addresses you want it to be posted. Then, when you actually enter your commitments/actual documents, you can decide what will be the posting address and what will be the budget address for these postings, thus controlling the budget consumption logic.
