May i know what is a limit item and how it is different from normal items. What is Limit item called in ERP (Backend)?
Thanks & Best Regards,

Hi ,
There are certain cases when the purchaser doesnt know what exactly would be the requirement for a particular item.In that case he assigns it as a limit item and gives a price against it which means that is the total amount allocated for the purchase of that item.

Hello,
Limits are used when the exact material or service are not known at the time of document creation.
Take the example of SRM installation, at the time giving the award to system integrator the client might not know the exact type of consultants required, but client can agree to pay a total limit for the implementation.
In backend ECC also limits can be used in PReq & PO, item category is B.
Hope this helps.
Thanks
Ashutosh

Hi,
This is one of the type of type of shopping cart called value limit item.
In this total Budget is alloted for a particular project. while raising the shopping cart the budget value is reduced so that you can the remaining budget in the project in the shopping cart right end screen.
For creating this shopping cart you have to select the value limit shopping cart.
In the backend there is nothing specific for limit it depends on the document type what you are configuring in the SRM system
