How to ristrict a Nav.attribute value in Query Designer?

Hi Friends,

Product company view is a characteristice and Product line Grouping is nav.attribute for that.

Product Line Grouping has 2 values 'Local','International'

I want build 2 queries with each International an Local.

When I am trying to ristrict on it, it is not allowing me. I dont want to use filter selection in navigation but I want to restrict basically from Query.

Thanks,

Sudhakar

Hi,

If you properly marked both, infoobject and infoprovider as navigational, switch on tech names in query designer. The nav attribute will have the tech name like

BaseIOName__NavAttrName. Chose this char and restrict it.

Best regards,

Hi,

When did you mark it as navigational attribute in the cube? When you tick an object as a nav attribute you should logoff from BEx and login again. Once the object is marked as an nav attribute it will definitely allow you to perform general functions in the query designer.

Sometimes it may also be an authorisation issue. Check out and get back pls.

I believe it should allow you to restrict the values.

Hi AVr,

Thanks,

Infact it is a nav.attribute. I dragged the Char in the rows and checked the attribute and trying to restrict on it but it doesnot.

It only allows filter during query navigation.

Thanks,
