EHP4 on SAP ECC 6.0 SR2

Hello all,

I am planning to install EHP4 on SAP ECC 6.0 SR2.

Can you please help me out with the basic steps that need to be done for DOING EHP4

I am going through the guide on Marketplace but just need some help from you all if you can outline the basic steps that need to be done

Hi

I would prefer going with SAINT/JSPM.

Check you have latest SPAM and kernel 701 patch before going for EHP4

Hi Rohit,

I will prefer EHP upgrade as JSPM and SAINT both will be taken care in a single tool... Also less downtime is required ...

Hello guys,

I have only ABAP stack and I have a guide which in which SAP recommends to use SAPehpi tool for doing the EHP4

So I guess SAPehp1 would be a better option

Also are there any specific notes to be applied before going for EHP4

Hi Rohit,

1) For EHP4, please check your system sonfiguration in solman and configuration should be up to date...

2) if your solman stack is 18 or 19 then you have to apply SAP note 1172948..

3) Go through SAP Note 1156968 - Add. info. on upgrading to EHP 4 for SAP ERP 6.0 ABAP..

4) also go through SAP note 1275873 for error in DDIC activation..

got one more question

is it necessary to use solution manager for downloading the EHP4 support files

Is it not possible through Marketplace directly

Also what do you mean by technical usage,it comes when I am trying to download files through Solution Manager

Yes it is necessary to download files for EHP4 from solman..you cannot download it from market place...

Technical usage means..e.g you want to install learning solution patch but in your system configuration in solman (SMSY transaction) it is not maintained then you will not be able to select this patch in MOPZ .. this is just an example....

The requirement at my end we want to implement HCM in our landscape

we do have an HCM component installed in the ECC 6.0 SR2

Now we first want to go to EHP4 and then go for the configuration with Portal

So do I select the technical usage as HCM

If HCM is installed in you system then you should upgrade HCM as well...
