Data Cleansing

Data cleansing allows you to compare, include and merge redundant business partner master records (potential duplicates) in data cleansing cases. When the data cleansing process has been completed, you can remove data records from the system using archiving.

Data Archiving (CA-ARC)

Data Archiving removes from the database application data that is no longer required, and places it in archive files that can be accessed and analyzed at a later date.

Hi,

Data Archiving removes out-of-date data from the SAP database that the R/3 system does not need online, but can be retrieved on a later date, if required. This data is known as archived data and is stored at an offline location.

Data archiving process comprises three major phases. They are:

· Creating an archive file

· Removing the archived data from the database

· Transferring the archived files to a location outside the SAP database

Please have a look at the below link for more information on Archiving

Hope this might be of some help!!
