Special Characters (Umlauts) in Quick Search

Hi everybody,

right now I'm facing some strange behaviour of the quick search iView in the tools area of NW04SP15 Portal:

Search works fine as long as I do not enter special characters (like german umlauts).

If I do so, the search string that is transmitted to the search iView that displays the hitlist is destroyed and shows strange characters looking like boxes. Of course I do not get any results in my hit list.

Any ideas how to fix this?

Hi Carsten,

there are similar issues known for SPS 15 Patch 0 fixed with Patch 1 as you can check in SAP Note <b><a href="https://service.sap.com/~form/handler?_APP=01100107900000000342&_EVENT=REDIR&_NNUM=928923&_NLANG=E">928923</a></b>.

Please perform the upgrade according to the note and retest the system.
