Hello Simha,

SRM 5.0 was application contolled workflow & SRM 7.0 introduces process controlled workflow. SRM 7.0 does allow upgrade path for customers with application controlled workflow.

Process controlled workflow can be configured easily by defining events & expressions and creating process levels.

Simple example for SC

010 Expression 1 Approval 1

020 Expression 2 Approval 2

030 Auto approve.

We can create our expression(business rule) & include in process level.

SAP has provided a lot of BC sets, which can be run in SCPR20 & configurations are done by system.

srm 5.0 workflow has got seperate workflow templates for different types of documents( Shopping cart , purchase order , purchase order response , invoice)

srm 7.0 workflow has got one template which controls all the types of documents. it uses concept of business rule framework (BRF)
