Email configurations - Incoming mails

Hi,

We are configuring both outgoing and incoming mails. In the note 455140 point 5 explains some settings to be done in Mail server.

Our Mail admin asking clear documentation regarding routing mail from Exchange server 2007 (SMTP server) to SAP system.

Port used in sap system for smtp plugin is 25000.

Please let me know how to do this.

Regards,

Hi,

As far as i know u need not to bother about any configurations for mail server.

the thing is you need to enter the proper ip address and the port, that should be open in Transaction SCOT.

Call the transaction SCOT-then double click on SMTP->it will open the pop window to enter the details.

there in General information tab you have select node in use check box and you need to enter the minutes for the outgoing mails.

the second tab is SMTP connection tab there you have to mention your Outlook server Ip address and the port is 25 (make sure that the port 25 is opened).

then select internet in Supported address types tab then click on set then enter * and the remaining details as they have mentioned in note.

Hi,

yes after configuration in scot & sicf (In SAP level)you have to mmaintain some setting in Exchange server. There you have to add the IP of the SAP server in a list which is in Exchange server. After maintaining the exchange server ,the SMTP server then only its possible to send mail to external system from the SAP system.Or you are able to get mail from external system to your own SAP system.Hope the below given link will help you to configure the Exchange server....
