ECC 6.0 IDES System copy

Former Member

Hi,

I am doing a system copy of one of our demo systems( Ecc 6.0 abap + Java ) on Windows Oracle 10.2, ABAP SP level 13.

My target system is a newly installed IDES System on same environment. The ABAP & Java patch levels are not the same. Can i continue the import or do i have to first patch the system.

Also please let me know if sapinst - system copy is a better option or

manually copying the database is a better option..

Please advice

Thanks

joyce

Hi,

Please go with the system Copy.the patches will come automatically when you do system copy.

Please follwo the Sapinst method.Keep in mind the Release of the Sap should be same and the os level patch.

Hi,

Please check that ho many datafile you have in your system old and the new System .

Please chek the advance DATABASE configuration and set the datafile .This option will come when you start giving the input for sapinst.
