sales order bom not exploding in the sales order

hi all

iam creating a sales order with one item (item cat.tan) and saving it,then iam going to CS61 and and creating the sales order bom with sales order number .

iam again opening the sales order in change mode and iam deleting the material and entering the bom material but it is not exploding.

can any one help me on this

hello, friend.

CS61 is a PP transaction and is not intended for BOM to be exploded in the sales order.

for BOM to explode in the sales order, first you need to create an SD BOM with usage 5 using CS01. You then assign item category group ERLA or LUMF to the main item's material master. only then will BOM explode in the sales order.
