Basic requirements for MI development

Hi,

Just started doing MI development. I want to know what are the basic requirements. We have NW2004s SP17 version

1. Do we need any additional configurations on server side? If so, give me more info

2. Do we need any plugins for development? If so, give me more info

3. What are the steps involved to install the MI client?

Please give me more clarity on above points.

1. The following configuration steps must be executed on the SAP NetWeaver AS: -

a. General settings, such as scheduling background jobs and creating user groups

b. Setting up the Mobile Administrator for administration

c. Setting up Smart Synchronization

d. Configuring the Computing Center Management System.

3. You can install SAP MI in the following ways:

a. Using a setup package. If you want to install without an Internet or network connection you can use a setup package. The setup package already contains applications and data for the user of the mobile device. This reduces the initial synchronization time.

b. Using a URL from which you or the user can download the installation.

c. Using the client installation file. This type of installation can also be done by the user.

d. Using a preinstalled Compact Flash Card.

Thanks for your reply.

I think you have explained in ABAP perspective. I would like to do MI development in Java.

We have only Java stack on server.

Please advise to go further.
