Unable to apply Java Support Packages as JSPM is making ABAP instance down

Hi all,

I am facing a strange problem in every stage while applying

java support packages

..i am using Windows with Oracle DB. My ABAP stack level is 14 and JAVA stack level is 6.

First i started applying JSPM from level 6 to 18.1, it got hanged bit the message on the top is that Deployed, in the status bar it is showing as processing, i clicked on EXIT waiting for a long time (almost 3 hrs.). when i see the system info. JSPM is not updated, i did as per the following link http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw70ehp1/helpdata/en/25/c45b4211aac353e10000000a1550b0/frameset.htm and then in the system components version of JSPM has been updated from 6 to 18.1, thats fine,.

Then, i started applying other patches from 6 to 18 selecting single suppoet packages option in JSPM, in that kernel and JSPM are shown as "not found", for the rest it has shown the target level. when i clicked on START, it has validated the components, no errors even here and then its stoppin the J2EE engine, in the ststaus bar the following msg. appears

"name sapccmsr has finished with return code - 1"

after some time it had stop the ABAP instance also and stop the deployment throwing the following message:

Cannot Stop j2ee instance, SCS instance and OS services. cannot stop service for instance IE6_1. See stop_service_01null_01 for details. cannot stop service for instance 1.J@EE engine is not running. start it and then resume. The j2ee engine is in normal mode.

i found the NOTE 985496 related to this and did the same but it didnt help, i have started SAP and then clicked on RESUME but it didnt work...I have deleted stack level 18 in EPS/in folder and downloaded 17 stack but the same error i have been receiving..

Could you pls. guide me if any have faced the same error?

Hi,

Your system stopped as you tried to upgrade the kernel with JSPM.Please try to do kernel upgrade manually.

Please check in the url what patch level it is showing.If its showing all the patch at old level then follow the below process.

Please follow the process.

First Update the kernel manually.

Then JSPM.

Please chech the JVM paramaters in the configtool so that java can start with no problem.

Then you can restart the JSPM .

Then apply the patch by selecting Single support pack component Advance option.

Please dont Apply the Patch CAF patch as it has error as mentioned in Note

Note 1010640 - CAF 7.0 SP6 or SP7 upgrades to SP11+ require manual undeploy

you can leave it while applying the other patches and once They completes you can gowith CAF patch as mentioned in the note.

Hi,

I did not select Kernel to update along with the java support packages...In the Log Files i have seen the following matter:

Error: cannot open sapccmsr config file is E:\usr\sap\CCMS\IE6_00\sapccmsr\csmconf

CCMS Agent is not registered

No sapccmsr agent running with E:\usr\sap\IE6\SYS\profile\IE6_SCS00_igatesap02 profile

exiting with code -1

Could you please guide me how to proceed further?

This is just an error that its asking you to configure CCMS.

for the patch you can find the log /ues/sap/SID/DV*/SDM/program/logs

se the most resent logs and post the error that you got wjie applying the patch.

Please apply the patch as suggested by me and if you get the error then post the log.

Did you check the url .what is the patch level there.
