Error while production planning run

Hi,

I got this error "No gap for activity ||| found within the planning horizon" during production planning run.

Diagnosis

There is not a large enough gap for the activity ||| on the mode

1- in the planning period specified in the time profile.

System Response

The system does not schedule or reschedule.

What could be the reason for this error ? Kindly help.

Hi Durai,

Check all operations and activities are connected properly, activity relationships are maintained in ECC.

Check whether mode, operation timings etc., are maintained properly. The error lies in maintainence of BoM, routing data only. Make the corrections and recif it.

This was due to product, resource mismatch in the planning run. Since the error message was

complicated and not clear, couldn't identify it. Now it is ok. Thanks

Hi having exactly the same issue can you tell me the steps you used to correct this?

Hi,

One reason could be the Time Bucket.

Please check your time series assigned for production planning run.

Check the PPMs and maintain the scheduling data .

Please let me know that whether you have transferred the data from R/3(Materials, WorkCenters, BOMs,PPMs) or you are doing manually in APO.

Let me know then i can tell you the right approach.

Yeah the master data is being transferred from R/3. Using PDS.
