Hi

I plan to install solution manager 7.0 and our SAP R/3 version is 4.6C no-unicode. I want to konw whether the solution manager must select no-unicode during the installation. Is there any problem when config the solution manager to connect R/3 if I use the unicode in Solution manager? Thank.

Best regards,

Henry

No probs for satellite systems (non unicode) to Unicode Solman,

reason : The data transfer from and to the Satelli-te systems happens through RFC's and I have never seen an issue in such an landscape.

If your existing systems are non-unicode at this point in time I

would suggest you to install an non-unicode Solution Manager System

because it doesnot make much sense to have a unicode system in the

landscape when all other systems in the landscape are non unicode.

However if your plan is to migrate the systems to unicode then you

can still think of an Unicode Solution Manager system as an option.

However it does not mean that you will face issues when you use an

Solution Manager System ( Unicode ) with Non-Unicode Satellite

Systems. I have not seen issues / problems due to this combination

and you can safely go forward with such a combination.

Hope this helps

Cheers,

Hi

I plan to install solution manager 7.0

With solman 7.0 SR3 you don't have any other option than unicode as it is mandatory option which cannot be unchecked during installation of solman.

our SAP R/3 version is 4.6C no-unicode

No issues you can still 4.6C system as a satellite system to solman
