is only Unicode Installation possible with ECC 6.0 SR3?

Hello All,

Do we have the option of only installing Unicode system with SAP ecc 6.0 SR3

I have downloaded SAP ECC 6.0 SR3 software and I want to install it as Non-Unicode system

but after I give SID of the system,then Unicode system option is checked on already and I can't remove that

Hi,

Unfortunately you can not installed a non-unicode version of ECC6 SR3 as a new installation. This is also written in the installation guide.

You will have this choice if you upgrade your system.

Yes.

New systems should always installed as Unicode. If you plan to connect e. g. a portal or install a double stack, this is only supported when the backend is Unicode.

Successor versions of ERP are available as Unicode only. You will need then to do a Unicode migration (more dowtime, pretty much of work etc.)

install as unicode.

once completed, change to non-unicode kernel and directory. you will then be able to restore/refresh your system.

also adapt NLS_LANG

Its not possbile any more with SR3 version to go with uncheck the option Unicode

May be you can give a try editing keydb.xml file but iam not sure about that
