Vendor changes when shopping cart is ordered

Former Member

Hello,

It appears that when an end-users creates a shopping cart from a catalog and clicks "order" there are instances where the vendor that is associated with that catalog changes. For example, items that are purchased through the CDW catalog are showing up on the Shopping Cart and PO as DELL after "order" is clicked. Has anyone ever seen this issue before?

Thanks,

Katie

Katherine,

we had a similar problem and the simple answer was that in the supplier catalog load file, our CP dept was putting the name of the manufacturer of the product into the supplier name column /ccm/supplier_name.

This is what is displayed to the shopper when they view the item in the catalog but the actual supplier is determined by the entry in the /ccm/supplier_id column of the supplier load template.

So our shoppers thought the item was coming from the manufacturer when in fact the supplier was something completely different.

Of course your problem may be more complicated than this?

Hope this helps you or maybe someone else with this issue

Hi lee

Are you creating shopping cart via punchout catlog ?

when you see the shopping cart vendor was A, after you order PO shows vendor B with respect to Shopping cart .

or in shopping cart it self showing wrong vendor as B instead of A which you seen before you order a cart.

Any custome development on vendor mapping in your system. give some more details on cataog data

Hi,

Check what is the oci vendor (NEW_ITEM-VENDOR) passed by the CDW catalog. Check for which items this is happening. Check the supplier part number of these items. Is there any contracts associated with Dell for the same supplier part no. which you are buying from CDW?

Hi Muthu,

After the shopping cart is ordered, the shopping cart has the incorrect catalog. So, if I shop for something in Catalog A and click order, it switches to Catalog B within the shopping cart and therefore on the PO as well when it is created.

There is also no customization on the mapping of vendor data in our system.

What other information about the catalog do you need?

Thanks,

Katie

Hi Muthu,

The carts are not being held, they are being ordered and the vendor is changing on the cart which is causing the PO to have the incorrect vendor on it as well.

I will create an OSS Message.

Thanks,

Katie
