We have some ECC 6.0 ABAP systems that do not have a unicode kernel. The diagnostics agent setup guide for Netweaver 7.0 says you should have a unicode kernel DVD for the diagnostics agent install. I was hesitant about using a unicode kernel for the SMD agent and a non-unicode kernel on the ECC 6.0 instance. I tried installing the agent with the non-unicode kernel DVD and got an error that would not let me continue. Anybody have experience with this?
Hi Carl,
As the diagnostics agent needs java, and java needs unicode, i reckon you really need a unicode kernel install package.
Hope this helps...
