Greetings Brain Trust...
I need to interface to SQLServer 2000 / 2008 but have to encrypt the data. To do this via UDI/UDConnect, you have to implement SNC which is a rather large pain in the you know what. My question is.... Can I stand up an application server for BI on a WinTel box and install the native SQLServer client there and use it for the interface, like Oracle and DBConnect?
Thanks in advance for your time and efforts!!!
Yes, it is possible to use a win application server. Check note [178949 -Database MultiConnect with EXEC SQL|https://service.sap.com/sap/support/notes/178949]
