Error installing ECC6.0 and CRM 7.0 AS Java on windows server 2008

Hi gurus,

I have started an installation for AS java of NW 2004s on windows server 2008.

I an facing the following error

I am facing a similar issue for my AS Java installations for CRM7.0

Seems to be a windows related issue but not sure.

Can some please help me out. i'm in middle of an implementation and all stuck.

There was an issue with sapinst.

SAP released a new sapinst for us and it solved our prob.

Hello , I do also have a problem for installing CRM7.0 on a Windows 2008 R2 (64B) with SQL server 2008 SP1 as database

i receive following error while starting the sapinst.exe

Installing Solution Manager 7.0 Ehp1 (MAXDB) on Windows Server 2008 64bit with SP2 (+ updates up to 19.Aug 2009) on HP ML110 (intel)

Using JDK 1.4.2_22-rev and JAVAOPTIONS=-XX:PermSize=256m -XX:MaxPermSize=256m -XX:CompilerThreadStackSize=4096 -Xss2m

Using media:

51036441 SOLMAN 7.0 EHP1 Inst Master

51036442 SOLMAN 7.0 EHP1 Inst Export

51036446 SOLMAN 7.0 EHP1 JAVA

51036767 NW 7.01 SR1 Krnl WIN

51036887 RDBMS_MAXDB_7.7.06_Build_10

Installation of SCS and DB is OK, both are running. Installation of CI fails.

Installation process fails when installing JAVA Engine. It fails with the error:

An error occurred while processing option SAP Solution Manager 7.0 EhP1 > SAP Systems > MaxDB > Distributed System > Based on AS ABAP and AS Java > Central Instance ( Last error reported by the step :Cannot load library C:\Users\ADMINI~1\AppData\Local\Temp\sapinst_exe.5076.1251059806/iamodsdm.dll: Last error = 126.). You can now:

Choose Retry to repeat the current step.

Choose View Log to get more information about the error.

Stop the option and continue with it later.

Log files are written to C:\Program Files/sapinst_instdir/SOLMAN/SYSTEM/ADA/DISTRIBUTED/AS/CI.

I have checked directory sapinst_exe.5076.1251059806 and the file iamodsdm.dll is not there.

I was searching all the filesystem and such a dll is not present.

The error is probably related to SDM. I can start SDM server, run GUI and I can see that some stuff is deployed.

I really do not know why the installation process is trying to load the iamodsdm.dll.

Any ideas how to solve the error?

one more night of troubleshooting and I have found some solution

I have downgraded SAPINST to the following version and it now works fine:

Client Version 1.4.0

Server Version 1.4.0

Server Port Unavailable (Standalone Mode)

SAPinst Service Version 710.2

SAPinst Host Name localhost

SAPinst Port 21200

SAPinst Version 701_1 OPT (Oct 3 2008 00:53:46)

It looks like there is a bug in SAPINST7102_1-20003625 not extracting iomodsdm.dll at all.

Actually it was a application bug and we got it rectified with a SAPINST specially released by SAP.

Downloading the latest SAPINST from market place didn't help us.

But you can try downloading the latest SAPINST from SMP as maybe it may have been updated now.

Ya there seem to be a bug sapinst7.2. It stops at process "install javaengine" with error,

retrying with sapinst 7,1 and continuing with old istallation worked for me.
