Maintaining product catalogs

We would like to understand the pros and cons of using ECC for maintaining product catalog viz a viz SAP MDM.

Hi Anantharam,

Please go through the links below which primarily focusses on the essential capabilites which MDM gets in this area. MDM was essentially developed only for Product catalogs. However, later the functionalities were enhanced and used in for a bigger Master data concern.

But MDM gets in so many features in terms of hierarchy management, cleansing, images etc, which makes MDM much more useful for the MDM Product catalogs.
