Anyone have SAP GRC CUP LDAP connector using port 636 SSL working?

Hello,

I wanted to verify if anybody connects to an eDirectory (or any other) LDAP in CUP using SSL port 636?

Statement I received from SAP is that this is not supported in CUP, and only non SSL connections to LDAP work. I just have trouble to believe this as SSL would be best practice in any company.

We will look into STUNNEL. Thanks!

Pados,

By using STUNNEL, CUP will not know about SSL. CUP will always think it is a regular connection but stunnel will send SSL connection to LDAP. Here is the link:

Alpesh, can you give any clue how they made this work?

Alternatively we could connect the LDAP via SSL in the UME as data source. however my understanding is that the fields available for field mapping in then limited to what UME supports.

Pados,

I remember they went with the UME approach first but it was manager information. At last, they used stunnel. That's all I can remember.

Pados,

SAP has been saying this but one of my customer has made this working. When this particular customer told SAP about it, they were told that we never said that CUP does not support SSL.
