IDOC TO IDOC

Folks

I am new to SAP PI and seeking your help in the following scenario

ECC IDOC1 -> SAP PI -> ECC IDOC2

here the sender and the receiver are both SAP ECC but the IDOCS are different ... we reasoned a lot , but the tech team insisted on the use of PI 7.1 in this

i want to know the Design and Configuration steps required for the same

i think for the sender as an IDOC i dnt require all the design steps and also for receiver

Kindly let me know whAT all steps to i need for this build or a blog that might be helpful to

me.

Thanks

Rohan

Check this:

https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/servlet/prt/portal/prtroot/docs/library/uuid/cdded790-0201-0010-6db8-beb...

The only things that you dont need are a sender IDOC CC and a corresponding Sender Agreement.

Abhishek.

thank you hemant .. its a great help !!

just one question if you could help me

What all do i do in the Service interface you mentioned since I do not have any MT . is it the receiver IDOC ? as the Message Type ?

and the Operation Name ??

and in the configuration side ..... ?? receiver and interface determination ... is it the Service interface for the receiver that have created in the ESR that should be mentioned in the ID ?

thanks

I never made such a statement :(......

Whenever you are using RFC / IDOC / BAPI you can directly create a MI (or SI in Pi7.1)....you use the RFC / IDOC directly in place of Message Type....same applicable when you import a WSDL (or XSD) into IR.

So in IR what you need is:

1) OB and IN message interfaces

2) Mapping program (if needed)

3) Corresponding Interface mapping....

Abhishek.

Hello Abhishek,

A correction:

When we are using IDOCS/ RFCs there is no need to create Message Interfaces or Service Interfaces.

They themselves act as interfaces.

We just need to create Message and Interface mappings in IR if necessary.

Hi Abhishek

In case of the source ad the target message both being IDOCS

Do we need the OB and IN message Interfaces ......coz thats required for the Operation mapping

and even for the ID part

thanks
