Is there a SAP document that shows what the best practice is for antivirus software on a nt netweaver platform is?
Our scanner constantly scans the /usr/ directory and its degrading performance.

its actually the 'on access' settings i want to get right.
We do one weekly scan on a sunday which doesn't affect the system

SAP disaproves the use of 'on access' scan. I remember an OSS note about it.
A few years ago we had a strange problem with very slow transports and SAP refused to help us until we stopped the antivirus...
In my company, we were not allowed to disable 'on access' scan.
What we did was to include the database files in the virus scanner exclusion list which is an acceptable trade-off performance wise.
