Hi,
We are investigating as to how we can replace our other monitoring tools with Solution Manager. How would we monitor a URL (eg Portal site) ? Can solman also monitor non-sap processes/services?

Thank you for your help and links to the docs.
My question was how to monitor/configure URL/Portal availabiltity. GRMG checks for the j2ee process availabilty. But is there a monitor in solman ccms (as in Sitescope, netiq, mom etc) that could tell you if a web site url is down by pinging the url on a regular basis?
Without sap installed on a managed server, can solman/ccms still collect info/alert on os, hardware and other processes or do we need sap to have saposcol, ccmsping, ccms* processes running?
Thank you.
My question was how to monitor URL. Note that Sitescope, netiq, mom and other monitoring tools could tell you if a web site url is down by pinging the url on a regular basis. Can ccmsping do this? ccmsping only pings if the server is available. If i specify the url, can grmg monitor if the websied (url) is unavaiable?
