Hi Manish

Steps for using remote key for auto mapping:

1. For the lookup tables enable key mapping as yes.

2. define Unique fields for the lookup tables(it can be combination of fields also)

3. During initial load of the Lookup table values select remote system(Other than MDM- this is defaulted) and connect to the source file.

4. Map the unique fields to the remote key(This can be seen in the destination items)

5. Automap the values once field mapping is done.

6. Login data manager and for each record entered in lookup table, right click -> Edit Key mapping -> Check if remote keys are updated.

7. Now connect to source file with the same remote system selected in Import manager for importing main table records.

8. Map all fields. Values will be auto mapped.

hope this helps. Let me know if you need more help.

Ravi,

Is that to avoid duplication of legal values (values of lookup table) we need to define fields as unique? or its for some other purpose?

does all the fields need to be defined as unique?

Thats correct. Unique fields are defined to avoid duplicity of data and also ensures robutness of data model.
