SAP Installation on VM Ware

Hi,

We are going to install SAP CRM 7.0 on VMWare env.It is first time we are using VMWare so we have some doubt ,I have analyzed and SAP installation is fully supported on VMWare.

Is there any difference in installation process on VMWare(I do not think so)?

How the SAP level backups(Online,Archive log) will happend on VMWare?

Can we clone the VMWare instances i.e we did first installation and then clone this image for further instances and change the SID?

Regards

Alok

Oracle is not supported under VMWare (for production instances):

https://www.sdn.sap.com/sdn/irj/virtualization

--> Partner Virtualization supported by SAP

There are lots of links and notes.

Generally it's not supported to "clone" windows instances, be it in VMWare or not.
