Hi,
Please give me how to define material type.
Thanks,
Siku
Hi,
while creating any new material master record you need to define a material type and application/usage industry it belongs to, SAP by default has defined and preconfigured several material types like FERT(finished), RAW (raw materials), HAWA (trading goods), DIEN (services item), VERP (packaging goods) , LEIH (returnable packaging) etc and in case if u feel like your matl is falling in none of the options provided u can go ahead with configurable materials.
Still if u feel like defining your very own material type u can go to SPRO>LOGISTICS GENERAL>MATERIAL MASTER>BASIC SETTINGS> MATERIAL TYPES>DEFINE ATTRIBUTES OF MATERIAL TYPES
Hope this helps.
Regards,
Kant

Hi,
You can define the material types using customization.
The T.Code for this is "OMS2".
Or the path for this is:
SPRO>Logistics-General>Material master>Basic settings>Material types-->Define attributes of material types.

Krishna.

Hi,
All the required material types are laready specified by SAP.
Even if you want then you can define them using "OMS2" T.Code.
You can define number ranges for your material type also using "MMNR" T.Code.
You can create materail types to special "Create transactions" using the path:
SPRO>Logistics-General>Material master>Basic settings>Material types-->assign materiaL types to special "Create" transactions.
Regards,
Krishna.

Hi
You can define or copy the material type in OMS2
or
Spro>>>>>Logistics general>>>>.Material Master>>>>Basic Settings>>>>Material Types>>>>>Define Attributes of Material Types
