Junk characters (#) in pdf sent on mail

Former Member

We are facing an issue wherein an invoice sent on a mail contains # characters instead of the intended Bulgarian characters. However, the spool contains the Bulgarian characters correctly.

As suggested in some threads, I have also tried by-passing email sent functionality and downloading spool to PC using program RSTXPDFT4 but it is still coming incorrect though spool was fine.

Could you please give some pointers as to where we need to look on this.

P.S. :- We need to have email functionality only. Download to PC option is not used so please direct your replies accordingly.

Thanks in advance !

Hi,

You have to upload true-type fonts to the SAP system that support the Latin-2 characters as per the SAP Note:

141343 - PDF Conversion: Latin-2

e.g. Windows Courier, Arial and Times New Roman true type fonts and use fonts COURIER, HELVE or TIMES in the form?

Adobe fonts do not support Latin-2 characters so the fonts must be embedded into the PDF. Also spool or PDF has to be created via a Latin-2 device type like I2SWIN.

Aidan
