Updating from PI BASIS, 2004_1_640 to PI BASIS, 2005_1_640

HI:

I am just installing the SPs for our NW04 system. I was trying to install the SP SAPKW35014, however it says that it needs the PI BASIS 2005_1_640 to be installed as well.

Right now i have installed all available SPs for PI BASIS 2004_1_640.

Now, is it possible to upgrade from PI BASIS 2004 to PI BASIS 2005.

I am new to this so any help would be really appreciated.

Or does one have to upgrade from NW04 to NW2004s.

HI Prince:

Yeah I understand that I need to upgrade the PI B to 2005. But how do I do that? I searched on the SAP Marketplace and found that i can update from PI B 2004 to PI B 2005.

But How do I update. I found the following item when i searched it in the marketplace:

51030956 CD PI Basis 2005.1_6.40 Inst./Upgrade

I am guessing that i would just open up the zip file and read over the instructions to implement it.

Hi

unzip that and you will see a sar file like KINBxxx. Move that to server either by FTP or upload from Front end option available in SAINT. Once its moved to EPS/In directory you can see PIB 2005 in SAINT.

In my application server current PI_basis is 2004_1_640 006

can i directly upgrade to PI BASIS, 2006_1_640

and please provide me the path from where we can down load it..

Imran,

You need to be in PIB 2005 patch 4 (i.e SAPKIPYJ64 ) before applying SAPKW35014. Now Install/upgrade ur PIB to 2005 and apply the PIB 2005 SPs. Once you done with this you can continue with SAP_BW 14.
