Unable to add J2EE engine into SAP MMC

Former Member

Hi Experts,

I have installed 2004s J2EE engine. SAP MMC was also installed with it which was

initially showing the server as F48.

Somehow, the server entry was deleted from the MMC. Now when I'm trying to add the

j2ee engine again into MMC, it is not showing up.

The procedure I'm following is as follows:

1. Navigate to the path C:\usr\sap\F48\JC30 to know that the server name is F48 and

instance number is 30.

2. In the menu of MMC, go to Action -> Properties

3. Click on the Fixed tab and enter the System name as F48 and the instance name as

localhost 30.

4. After doing all this, the server instance shows in MMC, but no sub-processes are shown

under the server node.

Please suggest.

Regards,

Nitin

Check that the corresponding OS services (Windows) are started in Administrative Tools -> Services MMC. The services are SAP<SID>_NN and SAP<SID>_N(N+1).

Try to add additionally also the second instance in SAP MMC: localhost 31.

Hi Siarhei,

Thanks for the reply !!!

I could find any service installed by the name SAP<SID>_NN and SAP<SID>_N(N+1) in the list of services.

Do I need to somehow install these ?

Do you mean you could NOT? Do you see any services started with "SAP"?

Hi Siarhei,

Sorry for the typo

Yes, I could not find the service for this 2004s server F42 in the list of available services.

However, I have also a CE 7.1 server installed on my machine for which I could find the

services by the names SAPCE1_02 and SAPCE1_03.

Best Regards,

If you do not see the services at all then you have to install them additionally. Maybe run the installer again and try to check that they are installed.

Hi Siarhei,

Thanks for the advice.

I'll run the installer again and check whether the services are installed or not.

Thanks a lot for your advice !!!

The problem has been solved now. After re-starting the services, the server is now showing

in the SAP MMC.

Thanks and Regards,
