SNP and VMI - Creating two different order for two different demand element

Hi Experts

I am working on APO implementation project and we have some typical VMI scenarios. We need to have base Forecast and promotion forecast in two different key figure. This was doable. But the requirement is to create two different orders as receipt element by running heuristic. One receipt element corresponds to base forecast and one corresponds to promotion forecast without overwriting the results of one another. But for the deployment, both the order are required to be considered.

Any idea guys?

Pushpinder,

This is feasible with the help of user exits but it will require enhancement in the Heuristic as well as deployment run.

Option 1: least recommended

If you want the heuristic results from both the forecast and promotion in one run.

Steps are as follows:

(1) Create an OSS message with SAP and see what they have to say regarding this. They will point you the correct user exits

(2) Create a new ATP Category under the category group- PS1

The current ATP category for Dist receipts is AG

Option 2: Mostly recommended and an easier solution

Steps are as follows:

(1) Release baseline forecast from DP--> SNP

(2) Run heuristics which will generate Distribution Receipts( Keyfigure- Dist Receipt Planned) from the Source Location

(3) Run Deployment which will confirm the demand from the source to the VMI location for the baseline forecast ( Key Figure Distribution Receipt COnfirmed)

(4) Release Promotion Forecast from DP--> SNP

(5) Run Heuristics which will generate disctribution receipt planned qty

(6) the planners can decide whether to deploy these or just leave them.

I have one more option as well.

But mostly the business should be ok with OPTION 2.

Thanks

Kumar

Hi Pushpinder,

One suggestion is that you can create a simulation version and then copy the existing forecast data from active model. You can create receipt elements in active model or sim version1 using base forecast and you can create receipt elements in sim version 2 using promotion forecast and then compare it.

You can carry out deployment in both active model and sim version and then use the results. Few customisations & BW help are required which you need to plan to achieve this.
