communication mechanisms between ABAP- and J2EE-server

Hello,

I am very interesting in the area of WebAS and would like to know about the following topics:

a) The structure of the communication of WEBAS, particularly JCo-Connector (what are the main problems using JCo and how these problems can be solved?).

b) Management of processes an resources of the WebAS (particularly comparison: similarities and differences)

Are there some papers/guiedes describing the topics above(in details)?

Thank you very much in advance!

Regards

Thank you Peter,

I already have this link (JCo documentation).

Do you have you information about management of processes an resources in SAP Web AS.

How are processes controlled in both parts of the WebAS (starting, monitoring, quitting)?

hi Axel,

WebAS is started, monitored and controlled in SAP Management Console (called as SAPMMC). if you have an ABAP stack, you may MONITOR using CCMS - Central Monitoring System. more details can be found on both of them in help.sap.com. you can configure CCMS to trigger alert mails if any problems arise. this is one of the tools besides lot others. there are specific configuration of CCMS for different landscapes eg: XI, MI etc..
