/VIRSA/ZVFATBAK job hanging.

I am running the /VIRSA/ZVFATBAK job every hour and 1-2 times a day the job will literally sit at the point it is performing the SELECT on CDHDR. By "sit" I mean that it shows up in the SM50 screen as a process (BGD) and calculates workprocess time. This is no calculation of DB time, CPU time. In performing all trace activities.....there is nothing happening. It is like is zombies out.

Once the job sits for more than 2-3 hours, I have to cancel it.

I have reviewed a lot of information, but nothing that points me to an answer for this particular issue with this job.

If the process was calculating something, then I might understand what the issue is.

If anyone has any thoughts, I would greatly appreciate them.

Hi Stephen,

What version and Support Pack of SPM do you have? There were some issues in some SPs. So, upgrade to the latest if you dont have it already.

One more thing that you can try is : Set the configuration parameter Retrieve change Log to No and see if this improves the perormance.

Index has been built. So OSS Note 1039144 is not applicable. (I did mention that the workprocess was doing nothing)

I will look at the SPs and check the configuration.

Check SAP Note-1039144.

You may have to build an Index on CDHDR.
