Process Control 3.0 Doubts

Hello Experts,

Please help me in clarifying following doubts about PC 3.0.

1. What are the minimum system requirements hardware level.

2. Can we have dual stack NW 700 EHP1 with EP component on the same system and deploy PC ABAP and portal PC package. Or do we need to have portal system installed separately.

3. Can we deploy PC package on existing dual stack system which meets the version requirements (like our ECC6.0 EHP3 system)

4. What is RM and will this be installed along with PC3.0 or its optional.

5. Should it be 3 tier landscape or can be 2 tier also (like Access Control) - will there be any transports like other ABAP system (ECC).

Hi DP singh,

1. What are the minimum system requirements hardware level.

ANS: Two single-core processors or One dual-core processor,

Processor=3.20 GHz and Above

Min RAM=8GB( if u have more RAM size, u r performace will increase.)

Server Operating System.

2. Can we have dual stack NW 700 EHP1 with EP component on the same system and deploy PC ABAP and portal PC package. Or do we need to have portal system installed separately.

ANS: Yes we can install DUAL (AS ABAP+AS JAVA) stack in the same server.you can deploy both abap and java packages in the same server, or if your company provides seperate server for portal, you can install portal packages.

3. Can we deploy PC package on existing dual stack system which meets the version requirements (like our ECC6.0 EHP3 system)

ANS: I am NOT sure, but as per knowledge the min req of SAP is NW 700 with EHP1 (SP03)

4. What is RM and will this be installed along with PC3.0 or its optional.

ANS: RM= Risk Managment, yes you can install along with PC 3.0

RM is optional,

5. Should it be 3 tier landscape or can be 2 tier also (like Access Control) - will there be any transports like other ABAP system (ECC).

ANS: It can be 3 tier or 2 tier landscape as per your company.

Hi DP,

1. Basic requirement is mentioned by GANGADHAR, you can still refer to the sizing guide of PC 2.5 and have an assesment for PC 3.0

2. We recommend to have single stack deployment approach even though dual stack is possible. Portal system can be in the same system but preferably you need to look the portal sizing guide and number of portal users. In large companies portal servers are always separate instance.

3. PC 3.0 is not supposed to be installed in ERP system and it needs a dedicated server which can meet the minimum server requirement as in the Q1 Answer given by Gangadhar. On ther hand you can deploy in existing dual stack of NW system and not in ERP environment, I just want to clarify this point

4. RM does not need a separte install and it is already included in the PC 3.0 package itself by the shared component. You need to perform the post install steps for RM though.
