Transports and Buffer Sync.

Hello All,

Recently we are experiencing strange issue on our QA server.

Platfrom: Windows 2003 X64 Cluster.

DB :MS SQL 2005.

SAP : ECC 6.0

Kernel: 178

SPS : 15

When we import transports, occationally few transports are not reflecting changes until we run

/$sync on both app servers.

Did anybody experience similar issue? any knows any possible reason why it is happening like this?

pls advice,

K

Hi,

Please check these two parameters in your System.

rdisp/bufrefmode

rdisp/bufreftime.

Thanks

Hi,

Check the profile parameter rdisp/bufrefmode.

With applications servers, it should be set to "sendon, exeauto".

If the value is wrong, it may be the reason of your problem.

Hi Both,

rdisp/bufrefmode is set to sendon and exeauto

rdisp/bufreftime is 120sec.

I found this note : 1255016. But note sure if this could be the cause.

will look for further reasons...

Many thanks for your swift replies.

Are you getting TYPELOAD_NEW_VERSION short dumps in your system.

I think the problem shoul not occur if Both the paramet are set

Hi Rishi,

I did in one occation when I did buffer sync on one primary instance and not on secondery instance( I mean on one app server and not on the other one). But after doing buffer sync on second short dump TYPELOAD_NEW_VERSION did not occur.

So, not sure what is under laying problem.

Quality server is recently copied from Prod (system copy). But this should not be the reason isnt't it?

Because problem is occuring with transports only, suspect R3 Trans and tp update.

Updated it. I will update and close if this resolves.

That did the tick.

Solution: updating R3trans and tp.
