Locking and Changing password of user SAPCPIC in client 000 on ECC6

Will there be any problem if user SAPCPIC is locked in client 000 and change its initial password.

As per note 29276 changing the initial password mean loss of certain functionality e.g. SM51. Note does recommend to replace the hardcoded initial password with new password, but when I tried to look at code it doesn;t seem similar to the code as given in note. I suppose this note is too old. Since report RSUSR003 refer to this note I am confused about it.

Hi Pawan,

Not sure about the risk in changing the password. However locking SAPCPIC may cause some problem with RFC-based programs. You can view the error logs in transactions ST22,SLG1 and SM58 for the detecting what programs actually make use of that ID. I think you may have to dig in more for further risks.

Changing the password is not an issue, but do not lock it....

Can you explain why? I usually delete it and disable CPIC logins.

This is not default, but I have not experienced any security problems from it.
